Here at MKR Robotics, we provide students with the unique opportunity to participate
in the two most prestigious robotics competitions in Brazil and the world: the Brazilian Robotics Olympiad (OBR) and the International Youth Robot Competition (IYRC), the largest event of its kind in Asia, brought exclusively to Brazil by Maker Robotics.
The IYRC is a global robotics championship for children and teens aged 6 and up, involving over 20 countries. This competition provides participants with a unique experience, featuring several competition categories and activities focused on scientific and social development.
In 2018, MKR Robotics was granted the honor of hosting the first international
edition of the IYRC in the city of Leme – SP, Brazil. The event attracted 846
students from municipal public schools, 111 students from private schools, as
well as parents, educators, and local authorities, totaling approximately 4,500
participants over two days of competition. The IYRC IN BRAZIL provided a rich
experience, fostering the exchange of ideas, technological solutions, and
interaction with diverse cultures.
In 2019, the city of Piracicaba in São Paulo, hosted the second National Stage of IYRC IN BRAZIL, in which there were 22 schools from several regions of Brazil and a total of 1,100 student participants, and this marked another significant success.
Following the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, online editions emerged and they gathered teams and students from all around the world. The 2022 edition was held in a METARSO format, incorporating augmented and virtual reality resources. We planned to conduct the National Stage in many regions of Brazil, culminating with the grand final in Brasília – DF.
The National winners had the opportunity to participate in the World Stage in 2023, representing not only MKR Robotics but also the potential and creativity of Brazilian youth on the international stage.
